Every day should indeed be Valentine’s Day. We should not be expressing our love to our partners only on February 14th. But somehow, expressing love on any other day is usually forgotten. Our busy lives get in the way of showing our appreciation to our partners. We overlook the beauty of our loved ones. We take for granted the things they do for us daily. We forget to say “Thank you” or “I care about you” or the best sentence there is, “I love you” because we are simply out of words by the end of the day due to being tired from work. And in the morning, when we wake up, we forget again because we are rushing to do our daily routine.
So, Valentine’s Day was “created.” The one special day to express, to show, to demonstrate, to utter, to shout out to the world and most especially to your dear partner how much you care, how much you appreciate and how much you love them.
Yes, we should show love every day, BUT, in this one particular day, there is no excuse NOT to show your love and appreciation. The reminders are everywhere-flowers, balloons, stuffed toys, and heart-shaped chocolates, and candies – choose one of these or decide to make your own, celebrate as unique as you want it to be. It does not even have to be expensive. As the saying goes, “it is the thought that counts.” The thought that in this one special day, you remembered to say I LOVE YOU!
