A Mom with AFIB (Atrial Fibrillation)

October 23, 2017, at approximately 1:30 a.m. I woke up with a pounding heart.  So hard that I thought my heart was coming out of my chest. So hard that I could not breathe, my head spinning, and felt like I was having a heart attack.  I was so sure I was having a heart attack. My husband, my children, and my stepdaughter woke up and they thought I was just having my usual panic attack but I told them that this was different.  It felt different. At first, no one was panicking. I told my husband to call 911 and that I felt like I am about to pass…

    GET OVER IT!

“Get over it.” “Snap out of it.” “Go on a vacation.” “Don’t worry too much.” These are words I often heard from those around me. I heard it from almost everyone; my friends, relatives, and even closest confidantes. Believe me, if it was that simple, I’d just “snap out of it” – in a second! But, life with anxiety and panic attack disorder has made my life a little bit more complicated than it already is. 5-Day Itinerary to London (and some tips to share)

“♪♪♪London Bridge is falling down, falling down…♪♪♪” Fortunately, London Bridge isn’t falling down.  The City of London isn’t falling down.  As a matter of fact, London is bustling, busy and teeming with so many activities, so many places to see and many things to discover.  In the summer of 2017, we vacationed in London for the very first time.  We were there for five full days (actually, 4 full days in London and one full day in Paris, France).  It was a VERY short trip but so worth it.  Since we only had a few days, we had to make sure to follow our itinerary to a T so we…

    Fifty, Fat, but FAB(ulous)!

Woke up one day and realized, “Hey, I am fifty (ish)”!  Fifty is just a number but it comes with so many new experiences.  For one, my monthly “visitor” is starting to say goodbye so hot flashes, mood swings, and fatigue comes to play.  Forgetfulness is a problem, and we call them the “senior moment”.  Eyeglasses are my favorite accessory or I cannot see what I am reading.  My children have to repeat what they’ve said before it registers with me.  Wow!!! I didn’t know being fifty(ish) will be this bad.  To top it all, my once svelte figure is now a figure of a pig.  Yes, a pig!  They…

    Why Blog?

Why Blog? Well, why not?  Since my high school and college days, I have always wanted to write. It is a passion that not many knew about me. I believe I got this passion from my paternal grandmother who wrote a lot of poems during her younger days. I was very little when I first read a poem that my grandmother wrote me.  It touched my heart and made me felt so special.  She thought about me.  She cared for me.  She loved me.  Those were the messages conveyed in the poem I received from her.  Years later, I started writing myself.  I began writing poems after my very first…
