Why Blog?

Well, why not?

Since my high school and college days, I have always wanted to write. It is a passion that not many knew about me. I believe I got this passion from my paternal grandmother who wrote a lot of poems during her younger days. I was very little when I first read a poem that my grandmother wrote me.  It touched my heart and made me felt so special.  She thought about me.  She cared for me.  She loved me.  Those were the messages conveyed in the poem I received from her.  Years later, I started writing myself.  I began writing poems after my very first heartbreak.  I so remember that day.  I wrote it for a boy, my very first “boyfriend.”  I was sad and hurt.  He left me for another girl.  I wanted to scream but couldn’t.  So, I wrote down my feelings, in a poem.  I released my emotions without screaming.  I let go of my hurt without crying.

Later on, I found myself writing essays for school work.  I enjoyed it.  I loved it.  The experience of writing those essays was uplifting and inspiring.  I got good grades and I was proud of myself.

The short stories I wrote were written out of boredom.  I wrote them in my native language, Tagalog.  My inspiration was short story books that I read during one summer.  I would have loved to keep writing short stories but time did not permit me as I got busier in my life and time just went by.

So, why blog? And, why now?

Now IS the time.  The digital world opened its doors for people like me who loves to write.  Mom blogs are very popular and moms like me have so many things to talk about.  We can talk about anything and everything under the sun. The worldwide web is our platform.  It is our way to share what we know, how we feel, and what our opinions are.  IT IS the time to speak up! A time to let our voices be heard. It is the time to share our passion with everyone.

So, again, why blog?

Well, why the hell not?
