Top 5 Unhealthy (Or even Toxic) Relationships

Relationships are tough!  It is tough enough for people who have no issues.  It is tougher for those who have.

Entering in an unhealthy relationship is the most stressful, anxiety driven, frustrating and albeit, most confusing or even terrifying situation one could find himself or herself in.

In my opinion, here are the top 5 unhealthy relationships:

Relationship with an Abusive Partner.

Yep, those are the husbands, wives, girlfriends, and boyfriends who physically, mentally, or psychologically hurt their partners.

            Why do they do that?

Maybe they experienced being abused themselves.

Maybe they did not experience any love while growing up.

Maybe they do not know how to express their feelings that instead of saying it in words, they act it out physically.

Or, maybe, they’re PURE EVIL.

Relationship with an Alcoholic

There are several types of an alcoholic in my perspective.  There is the type that when they get wasted, they simply pass out.  They don’t talk, they do not create any trouble, they become oblivious to the world around, and they just pass out.

There is the “happy” but “annoying” alcoholic.  They are the ones who sing or dance and become boisterous.  They are either a pleasure to be with or they become obnoxious and disgusting.

There is a high functioning alcoholic. Despite having consumed all the liquor in the bar, he/she is still able to talk without slurring his/her words, he/she can still walk without stumbling, and he/she is still able to drive without crashing.

Alcoholics lose their inhibitions when they are drunk and can physically or verbally abuse you.  Alcoholics can be liars.  They will lie about their drinking habits so that they can continue drinking and when they continue drinking, they lose their focus, they become irritable and eventually become irresponsible.

Relationship with a User

A user is someone who stays in the relationship solely for support and self-comfort or self-gratification.  They do not love you.  They only want sex, money, or a place to stay.  These types of people are the ones who will lie and cheat you so they can get what they want from you.

Relationship with a Much Younger Partner

I am not generalizing here, but sadly, in most relationships where one is much younger, the relationship becomes volatile or unstable.  The older partner may become too clingy and insecure, while the younger partner may become too “happy go lucky,” “no care in the world” kind of partner.  This creates a problem that becomes too much to handle.

Relationship with a Misogynist

The male partner who loves to be with a woman but somehow has a dislike or contempt for his female partner.  He disgraces her, berates her, criticizes her and disrespects her.  That is unhealthy and toxic.  This type of partner will rob you of your confidence, self-dignity, and self-esteem.

GET OUT!

If you are in any of these relationships, GET OUT NOW! It is not worth being in an unhealthy or even toxic relationship.  It will drive you crazy and will rob you of the opportunity of finding a better partner or to be happy alone and peaceful.
